Autumn Leaves

Hello, I am sharing some more of my cards from the August shows on Create and Craft.

My cards today use the lovely From Nature 2 stamp set.

First I started with a slim DL sized panel used lengthwise and masked off the top and bottom with low tack tape. I then used some autumn colour Distress Inks and heat set. Next I used some Versamark ink and randomly stamped one of the leaves and embossed in gold. I then stamped a different leaf and embossed in copper. I then covered everything with Versamark and embossed in clear. I repeated for three layers being careful not to heat too much as the embossed leaves will start to melt into the clear layers! Once it was cool I put it into the freezer. After about 15 minutes I took  it out of the freezer and cracked the embossed layer - so satisfying! I then rubbed some brown Distress Ink over the top to reveal the crackles. I trimmed and glued the panel to a DL card base and added a sentiment.

Close up of the crackles.

My next card is a quick and easy make. You may have seen that Judith has started an album on the Facebook Group for 15 minute cards and this was my contribution.
I used the large Oak Leaf from the set and inked it with yellow, red and green Distress Inks in random areas, overlapping to blend the colours. I used Archival ink for the numbers and words.

Beautiful Words

Hello, I am sharing some of the cards I made for the  Chocolate Baroque August shows on Create and Craft.

The stamps I have used on these cards come from Slim Word Strip 2. A great set of stamps for focal points and backgrounds.

For my first card I used the Christmas words and the spotty strip.
I started with a 7.5" piece of card and stamped the words in Versafine Clare ink, I then stamped the spotty border below and repeated until I had covered my card. I moved the stamps to show  different parts each time. I wanted a Christmas focal point so decided on this little guy from A Tomte Christmas. I stamped him in Memento ink and coloured with alcohol markers. I then adhered these to a 8x8" card base.

For my second card I used the Birthday words, again with the spotty strip. I started with a 5.5" piece of card. I then stamped the spotty strips at the top and bottom of the card and filled each hole will glitter glue. On a separate piece of card I stamped the words using multi colours of Versafine Clare and cut out the section I needed and layered onto some gold card. I glued the spotty card onto a 6x6" card base and added the word panel using foam pads. A great fun birthday card!

The afternoon shows featured the Floral Paraphernalia stamps. You can see my previous post with these stamps here

Different Backgrounds

Hello, I am sharing the last of my cards from the July shows on Create and Craft for Chocolate Baroque.

These two cards feature stamps from Butterfly Daisy Collage and I have used a couple of different background techniques.

For my first card I used a "mop up" piece of card which I had used Distress Inks and a harlequin stencil on. A great way to use up those pieces you have been saving!  I stamped the main image from the stamp set in archival ink and then used a die to cut it out. On a larger piece of card I used one of the smaller stamps to fill around the sides. I also used Small Graph Paper to fill any gaps. I then mat and layered these onto a 6x4 card base.

For my second card I used Distress Inks randomly over a DL sized card and dried it with my heat gun. I then stamped some flowers and butterfly from the stamp set in VersaMark ink and clear embossing powder. I then covered everything with black Distress Ink and wiped it off to reveal where the embossing powder acted as a resist. I finished by running it through an embossing folder with  a branch effect and highlighting with gold wax. I trimmed it down and mat and layered in gold and then onto a DL card base.

Freedom Flower

Hello, I am sharing a couple more of my cards from the July shows on Create and Craft for Chocolate Baroque.

My first card uses the O is for.... stamp set.
I stamped the main image onto some smooth cardstock in Memento ink and coloured with alcohol markers. I then used the mini tree stamp from the set and stamped around the edge of a slightly larger piece of card, changing the direction of the stamp each time. I then mat and layered these onto some black card and onto an 8x8 card base.

I used Freedom Flower for my next card.
I started with a piece of drawing cartridge  about 6.5" square. I stamped the flower image in the top right corner in archival ink and then covered with a mask. I repeated this 2 more times, varying the placement of the flower across the top of the card. Whilst the flowers were masked I used the splatter stamp from the set and stamped along the lower edge of the flowers. I removed the masks and coloured the flowers with watercolour pencils. I added the word "Gratitude" from Artistic Expressions.

Chocolate Baroque Retired Stamps

Hello everyone. I am sharing some more of my cards from the Create and Craft show in June for Chocolate Baroque.

My first card uses the Parfum de Paris stamp set.
I took an 8x8 card blank and mat and layered two patterned papers for my background. I then stamped the flourish background in archival ink and mat and layered this. My final layer was the script stamp from the set. I finished with a small resin Eiffel Tower.

My next card features the beautiful Baroque Corners. I used my stamping platform to stamp and emboss  the largest corner stamp 4 times onto some grey card. I love how different patterns emerge, like the circle in the centre. I then used a selection of pencils to colour in just parts of the stamping. A very elegant stamp.

My last card today uses the Bird Song stamp set. I made a gatefold card using 15x 42cm card base.  I made three slightly smaller panels, 2 for the front and 1 for inside.  On the outside panels I stamped the bird house and on the inside panel I stamped the bird bath and swirls. I added some blended Distress Ink and mat and layered onto black card.

Bold and Beautiful

Hello, I am sharing some more of my cards from the Chocolate Baroque shows on Create and Craft.

My  cards feature stamps from Not More Flowers!

First I used my stamping platform and stamped the larger leaf  four times in a green archival ink on a 7x7 card base. I then used one of the smaller leaves and filled in the gaps with a different shade of green archival ink. I stamped the sentiment onto a die cut circle and layered this onto a slightly larger circle. Finally I mat and layered the card onto a 8x8 card base.

For my second card I used a 6x6 satin card. I stamped the Dandelions, twice, and the sentiment with VersaMark. I then used a brayer  and Distress Inks over the top. The VersaMark resists the ink and I am always amazed how crisp the stamping is with this technique. Once it was dry I buffed the card with some tissue and stamped some more Dandelions in the background in archival ink. I mat and layered onto some silver card and then onto an 8x8 card base.

Blended Colours

Hello, I am showing some more of my cards from the May show on Create and Craft for Chocolate Baroque

My first card uses the Alium Collage set.
I started with a piece of watercolour card and stamped the Allium stamp in archival ink. I coloured the Allium with two shades of purple water colour markers. I added splashes of colour around the image and then spritzed it all with water so that the colours merged.  I added a border from Making More Marks and a sentiment.

My next card uses stamp from the Just Useful stamp set.
I stamped the brush strokes using Versafine Clair inks using my stamping platform. I then stamped the splatters using the same inks. I used the letters to spell out ART on another piece of card and blended around the edges of both cards. I mat and layered the pieces onto some toning card stock.

For my last card today I used Ace Card stamp set.
I started with a 7x5 card base and trimmed about 1/2" off the front side. With  the card open I stamped the script along the edge so that this could be seen when the card was closed. I then stamped the Ace card over the front of the card, masking each layer. I stamped the collage stamp onto some silk card in VersaMark and embossed in clear. I then used a brayer and 2 colours of Distress ink over the top blending them in the centre. Once the inks were dry I buffed the card with some tissue to remove any ink over the embossing. I mat and layered the collage piece and glued it to the front of the card.

Life is Wonderful

Hello, I am sharing some more of the Chocolate Baroque cards I made for the April shows on Create and Craft.

My first card uses a 6.5" square of smooth card stock. Using Memento ink I stamped the main image, the dragonflies and the sentiment from Life is Wonderful. I then coloured the images using alcohol markers in shades of Warm Grey and Cool Grey. I then mat and layered this onto some toning card and then onto an 8x8" base.

My second card uses very similar sizes of card, but this time I have used the Be at Peace stamp set. I decided to use some non traditional colours for a more fantasy feel.

A Bit of Sunshine

Hello, I'm sharing some of my samples that I made for the April shows on Create and Craft.

The stamps that I have used are Sunny Sunflowers and Studded Lattice.

My first project shows how well these beautiful stamps transfer all the detail into Paper Clay. I started by rolling the clay out slightly larger than I needed and pressing the inked up stamp evenly into the clay. I found that using an acrylic block helped. I gently pulled the stamp off the clay and used a glass tumbler to cut out the circle. I used a skewer to make the hole and left it to dry. Once it was dry, I left it overnight, I coloured with inks and used Distress Ink around the edge.

For my next card I've been playing around with frames on my cutting machine..... I kept all the pieces in place and stamped the sunflowers and leaves, using Masking Tissue when needed. When it was all stamped I removed the Tissue and coloured with Distress Inks. I stamped the word Peace from Gold, Frankincense, Myrrh set and then layered over a piece of black card.

Next I used Masking Tissue again to stamp an edge of sunflowers on a 6x6 card. With all stamped images covered I then stamped the Studded Lattice over the top. I removed the tissue and coloured with Distress Inks.  I mat and layered and attached to the front of 8x8 card.

For my last card today I started by stamping a background using Dusky Damask and Distress Inks. I then cut two layers from and oval die. I coloured both layers with Distress and used the Studded Lattice on the smaller oval. I then stamped one of the sunflowers out twice and layered it in the centre. I used some mica in the the centre of the flower for texture.

Elemental

Hello, I am sharing my third post of the month with you to show my Chocolate Baroque cards made for the Create and Craft shows in March.

I have used Floral Paraphernalia Elements and Out of the Trees Elements stamp sets. These really  compliment the main sets, but can also be used as stand alone sets.

For my first card I sprinkled some Turquoise Brusho down the edge of a card blank, lightly spritzed it  and left it to dry overnight. Once it was dry I stamped the Port Hole shapes and solid circles. I then stamped the floral and leaf stamps, masking where needed. I used pencils to colour in. I added some of the number stamps from the sets and a quote from Artistic Expressions.

Next I used the Element stamps to create a small scene.
Starting from the "front" I stamped the stone wall. I then masked a small area so that I could stamp the deer behind the wall. I then masked the deer and stamped the treeline. I used a stencil to create some hills in the background and coloured with Distress Inks. I finished by adding the script stamp to the lower edge.

For my last card today I used my stamping platform to repeat stamp the flower and leaf stamps. I have then coloured using watercolour pencils and a little bit of Stickles. I die cut a couple of circles and added the word Joy from Artistic Expressions.

Beautiful Collage Stamps

Hello, I am sharing some more of my cards from the Chocolate Baroque March shows on Create and Craft.

All of my cards are made using Out of the Trees Slim Strip Stamp Set

I stamped the A4 stamp strip, which has some fabulous collage, detail onto some drawing cartridge.  I used my heat gun to dry the ink - Black Archival, and then sprinkled Black Brushos over the top. I then spritzed very lightly with water. I left it to dry naturally overnight and then blended Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges. I then mat and layered onto some white cardstock and then onto a black card base.

For my next card I made a Z card base. I cut some smaller pieces for the background layers and used Distress Inks to colour these. I stamped the Out of the Trees stamp onto some white card and coloured with watercolour markers. I added some extra dots from  Numerology  stamp set and the word Nature from Sow the Seeds set.

For my last card today I stamped the Out of the Trees stamp onto white card with black Archival ink and then die cut 3 pieces.  I then used an Accordion Die and cut 3 panels. I glued the stamped images to each panel and then glued the base together..... a bit fiddly, but it does look good on the mantlepiece!

Floral Elegance

Hello, I am sharing some of my cards and makes from the Chocolate Baroque March shows on Create and Craft.

All of the cards feature the wonderful new stamp Floral Paraphernalia.

For my first card  I stamped the image which is A4 in length onto some black card with VersaMark ink. I then embossed with silver powder. I coloured the stamped image with shimmer paints and then layered onto some silver mirror card. I scored a piece of black card lengthways to make the card base.

For my second card I stamped part of the image onto a 7x7 Kraft card base using brown archival ink. I then coloured with pencils.

For my third card, I again just stamped part of the image onto some smooth card using black Memento Ink. I coloured the image with alcohol markers and then went over it with  Distress Inks to give a vintage look. I mat and layered onto black card and then onto a 8x8 card base. I added the sentiment from the set.

Next, I stamped in Black Memento and coloured with alcohol markers. I trimmed the base card and layered onto some orange card and adhered to the front of a Kraft bottle bag. I think it would make a lovely gift!

Finally I painted and distressed a piece of MDF and added pencil lines to look like wooden boards. I then stamped and embossed in gold.  I made a couple of holes at the top and threaded some twine through to make a hanging decoration.

Friday, 25 March 2022

 Hello everyone

I am sharing some more of my cards from the February Chocolate Baroque shows on Create and Craft

My first cards use stamps from Words of Comfort and Cheer.

I started with an A4 sheet of watercolour card and sprinkled Brushos down the centre length ways and width ways. I then spritzed with water and let the magic happen! I left it to dry naturally as I think the colour stays more vibrant. Once it was dry I cut the sheet down into 4 pieces and added one of the sentiments from the set to each piece. I added some orange die cuts as a contrast to the Turquoise Brusho.

My next card uses the Butterfly Mind stamp set.....one of my favourites. For this card I used some of the element stamps. First I stamped the film strip, butterflies and splatters. I then stamped, coloured and fussy cut some of the butterflies and layered over the stamped ones. I finished by adding a sentiment from the set..

On my next card I stamped some splatters  and the large butterfly from Butterfly Mind. I added some fibres over the butterfly with tacky glue. I then stamped the butterfly again, fussy cut it out and layered over the stamped butterfly.  Adding a cut out butterfly over a stamped image means I don't have to worry about cutting out those fiddly antennae!  I finished by adding a sentiment and some gems and mat and layered onto a 6x6 card base.

I stamped the  Wish Flower in Memento Ink and coloured with alcohol markers. A beautiful stamp that can be coloured in many ways.

I have stamped Bird of Joy with archival ink onto Kraft card. I then used pencils to colour and added some gems. I layered onto some mirror card and then onto an 8x8 card base.

I stamped Floral Delight onto some black card and embossed with gold powder. I have coloured the flowers with shimmer paints, beautiful to use - difficult to photograph! I then mat and layered onto some gold card and onto a 7x5 card base.
