Sharing an art journal page with you.
I started by applying gesso to both pages, closing the pages and pulling apart whilst still wet gives a lovely texture. I then built up the background colours with Gelatos. Using DecoArt Texture Sand Paste I stenciled with Andy Skinner "French Elements", Crafters Workshop "Mini Screen Print" and Indigoblu "Wild Butterflies". I then brushed over the paste with Indigoblu Bronze Luscious Powder which gave a lovely rusty finish. Some text stamping in the background. Finally I used Distress Crayons around the edges and a little bit of gilding flake for the "hello"
Week 4 already and this week we are encouraged to try our hand at still life painting. Eek I can't draw a straight line, that's why I buy stamps!
Well, I had a go and quite pleased for a first attempt. Maybe I'll be brave next time and use a canvas and not my art journal.

I am taking part in Wanderlust, a year long mixed media course. We have a video each week, a prompt for the art journal twice a month and lots of other wonderful things. I have learnt so much and it's only the third week! You can find out more here.
Here is my first art journal page....
....and here is a travel journal I have made from the Kate Crane video.
Lots of spaces left to add photos, tickets, receipts, etc. Memories from a Baltic Cruise 4 years ago.
