Alpha Tags U and V

 U for UTEE (and Umbrella!)

Oooh, getting to the difficult ones now!

Now, we are allowed to use Chocolate Baroque products or any that are sold by them, past or present. I know Glenda sells some Holtz things but not sure if she ever sold this stamp so the Umbrella has has a coating of UTEE and the Butterfly also.

Background is Gesso, sprayed with inks and mica. Dots made from sequin waste, swirl from Craft Stamper mag.  Umbrella Man from Tim Holtz and sentiment from CB Artistic Expressions. Butterfly from CB Butterfly Blush, sponged with DI, sprayed with mica, covered with UTEE, melted, sprayed with mica and melted again!
                                             Close up of butterfly.

V for Viburnum

I love this stamp and it always reminds me of  viburnum berries.

Background is DI with swirl from Artistic Expressions faint in the background. Stamp from CB Fantastic Florals. Berries and Butterflies coloured with Sakura Glaze pens.

Not many to go now,
See you soon

Chocolate Baroque Alpha Tag Swap C and D

Well it's the second month of the Chocolate Baroque Alpha Tag Swap.

This is Tag C - Clocks and Cogs

First I stamped the clocks and cogs stamp from Chocolate Baroque Punky Romance in Versamark and embossed with clear powder.
I then used Distress Inks and Stains - Antique Linen, Weathered Wood and Faded Jeans.
I then added a little pocket watch and sentiment stamp from Craft Stamper mag.
For the wings, again from CB Punky romance, I inked my stamp with Versamark and then added DI Faded Jeans over the top, stamped then embossed.

(I know you can emboss DI, but I'm never quick enough!!)

Cut out the centre of the pocket watch and covered the centre of the Wings (there's a cog on the stamp) and attached with ribbon and jump rings. Added Sentiment - Tempus Fugit - Time Flies!

This is Tag D - Dragonflies

For this tag I used DI China Blue, Faded Jeans and Scattered Straw and lots of water!

I used the solid dragonfly stamp from Chocolate Baroque Butterfly Blush and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer ultra thick EP Malachite Fire. I then stamped the matching detail dragonfly from CB Just Butterflies with Versamark and holographic  EP onto vellum and cut out the wings. Added a little gem.

Stamped foliage from CB Wild Meadow in DI Pine Needles and added flowers with Brilliance Platinum Planet.

I received 2 gorgeous tags in the first swap
Asia from Lesley and
Blushing Blooms from Paula
I think it's fair to say we are all enjoying this challenge!

Thanks for looking
See you with E, F and G next month!

Make My Monday - Steampunk

Make My Monday has a new challenge

This is the first Monday in September at that means a brand new theme and challenges. This month they have been chosen by Cath and her theme is STEAMPUNK.
Steampunk is based around the Victorian era and tends to incorporate elements of science fiction and fantasy with futuristic innovations such as fashion, culture, architecture and art.
So that being said your first challenge is to create a STEAMPUNK ATC.

I recently bought the Steampunk Christmas stamp set from Chocolate Baroque, but otherwise I know nothing about this subject and I have never done an ATC!

So I did a little research, scoured through my stamps and came up with this.

Background is Adirondack Slate direct to paper.  Cogs stamp is Chocolate Baroque, Small Timepiece is Tim Holtz, Large Timepiece and Hot Air Balloon free with Craft Stamper  all stamped with DI Black Soot. Stamped a Cog, Timepiece and Balloon on a scrap with Versamark and embossed in silver, cut out and layered.

Thanks for looking, may have another go if I got time!

Less is More Week 6 - Off the Edge

This weeks challenge at Less is More is to create a card with part of the image off the edge of the page.

For my card  I masked off a strip with low tack tape and swiped with Marvy Heritage "Lavender Fields" dye ink.  Removed the tape and stamped three dragonflies (freebie from Craft Stamper) with Brilliance "Platinum Planet". It looked awful - too pale.  But before I consigned it to the bin I overstamped with Versafine "Onyx Black"  Rescued!  Finished with a Wedding Day banner also coloured with Marvy ink.

Thanks for looking
