Rainbow Lady Challenge - Faux Postage

When I saw this challenge at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog I couldn't resist having a go as I have the Mail Art stamps as yet unwrapped! So it was the ideal opportunity to  play along.

... we would like you to create some 'Faux Postage' somewhere on your creation please.....and yes I am delighted to say we have a new sponsor -  Glenda of the super company 'Chocolate Baroque'.

For this card I used a Paperartsy stamp given away by Sheila aka Manic Stamper (Thank you very much!), and Mail Art stamps by Chocolate Baroque. The "stamps template" was made on Excel and then after I'd stamped each image I blended DI Antique Linen, Adirondack Butterscotch and Rust. It was a bit bright at first so I toned it down by adding Antique Linen over the other colours to soften!

Thanks for looking

Less is More (No 3)

OK, this is my last entry for the Less is More Take Three Challenge I promise!

For this card I used Nellie Snellen die to cut out the lacy circles, used two stamps that were free with a magazine a while ago and edged with DI Broken China.

The challenges I used were

No 22 - Shades of Blue
No23 - Something with Legs
No 24 - Circles

I am now up to date with all the LIM challenges - even though I have cheated a little bit with the combined ones!

Thanks for looking,
Sandra

Less is More Week 30 (No 2)

My second entry for the Less is More Take Three Challenge.

For this card I have combined

19 - In the Frame
20 - Monogram
15 - Embossing

I have very few stamps with letters on so the Monogram (our initials) is computer generated, I then stamped Butterfly Flourish Swirls from Chocolate Baroque with Dew Drop Brilliance Platinum Planet, die cut a frame from Spellbinders Labels 5 and embossed with a swirly folder.  All put onto a Pearl coloured card as out next Anniversary will be our 30th which I believe is pearl.

Well that's  another 2 of the missed challenges ticked off the list - just got 22, 23 and 24 left to do!

(Don't tell Chrissie and Mandi but I will probably mount this onto a larger card with sentiment, ribbons, buttons, etc!  Just need to remember where it is next April.)

Less is More Week 30 Take Three Challenges

Time for another Less is More challenge!

"We have chosen a Recipe this time
Take 3 Challenges
We want you to choose 3 from any of our previous 29 and combine them in your design."

For my card I have chosen 3 of the challenges I have missed!  I missed the very first one and a few when doing the dreaded decorating (almost finished!)

No 1 - Pink, Black and White
No 21 - Sketch
No 25 - Button or Ribbon

I used Elusive Images Bold Blooms stamp, coloured with Magenta Shimmerz and Cosmic Shimmer White watercolour paint, a bit of glitter in the centres and a ribbon to finish.

Well I've caught up on three of the challenges have to see if I can catch up on all of them!

Bah Humbug Week 34 Here Come the Girls

This is the challenge at Bah Humbug this week

Here Come The Girls!
OH YES!  We want to see your girly-est girly ideas whatever they may be.

Now, I don't do "People" very often in my cards - I don't know why! But I had just given into temptation and bought a Goody Box from the Craft Barn and this stamp was in it - Sarah Kay "Noel Treats". Good timing or what!
Coloured in with Promarkers, cut with Spellbinders Label 5, BP from stash and Spellbinders snowflake to finish.

Less is More Week 29 (no 2)

A variation of my previous post!
I said I would try a shaker card and here it is!

(Sorry, very poor light tonight.)

Stamped and coloured as before, made a frame with  Sizzix dies, acetate and blended inks, popped in a few beads and finished with a bow!

Bah Humbug Week 33 (and 27!)

The challenge at Bah Humbug is "Something New"

This could be a new purchase or a new technique.

For my card I chose the Fantastic Steampunk Christmas stamps, a fairly recent purchase  from Chocolate Baroque. Although I used this stamp for the White on White challenge recently the camera does no justice! So I tried again! Embossed in silver this time.

Close up detail.

I've missed a few challenges due to decorating so I've tried to catch up.  This is for week 27 Meeces!
A Margaret Sherry design that came on a free CD with a magazine. Printed off the digi stamp and coloured with Promarkers.

Hope to catch up on a few more missed challenges - I am in my new craft room but not unpacked as yet!

Less is More Week 29 - Things That Move

A new challenge at Less is More!

Now onto this week's challenge which is a 'Theme' and we would like to see
Things that Move
This could be interpreted in a variety of ways...an actual moving component on your card, so a pop up, a shaker, a spinner, a charm, a tag... we could go on...
On the other hand your card could have an image of something capable of movement, so the scope for that is almost infinitesimal!
Whatever you do, we're sure that all you LIMettes will be totally creative!

For my card I used  an Artemio stamp set - Hydrangea (fantastic value at £1.99 for 4 little stamps!)
I stamped with Archival Black and coloured with water colour pencils.
Might have another go with this set and make a shaker card!

See you later

Less is More

My second card for this challenge!

For my card I die cut Tim Holtz Ornamental Die and used the waste as a mask. I then used Ink Dusters to add Adirondack  Lettuce, Pesto and Eggplant and DI Spun Sugar. I then stamped a lavender image twice (Chocolate Baroque Wild Meadow) and highlighted with inks.

Check out Less is More for some great entries,

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Eyes Down

At Papertake they have a different challenge each week.

"So onto this week and it’s time for a game of bingo – Papertake’s first.
Here’s the ‘card’  for you ….
This one has a bit of a twist cos there are free spaces for you so if your line includes one of them you can use whatever you want for that square. But you obviously must use the other 2 items that are on the grid"

For my card I have taken the top line and used Fern Leaf Die Cuts from Little Claire's (Free), a Pearly Brad (Pearl), and a Spellbinders Blossom 2 Die Cut and a flower made from Tim Holtz Tattered Florals (Blooms). All made with white pearlised paper.

"On to this week and our challenge theme is ...
"KISS-mas"
We'd like you to 'pucker up' and create something to send Christmas Kisses to a loved one in your life."

For my card I used a 3" square card, stamped a Papermania Mistletoe image onto some patterned paper and embossed in black. Finished with a bit of sparkly black ribbon!

PaperPlay Challenge 32

This week at PaperPlay the challenge is to create your own DP.

For my card I used Clarity Silk Art board and a selection of Ranger Alcohol Inks.
I then stamped the butterfly from Chocolate Baroque Butterfly Flourish and embossed with copper EP.
I blended some DI Antique Linen to take away some of the whiteness of the cardstock and finished with some seam binding ribbon which had also been coloured with the DI,

Less is More Week 28 - One Layer

There's a new challenge over at Less is More this week.

"The special feature we would like to see this week is for you to
USE INK
** This does include ink pads **
...hopefully in a way you haven't tried before.... or using a favourite technique.
If you can avoid using the computer this week, that would be great, but we wouldn't want to to miss a week if the computer is your only method of card making."
For my card I stamped the butterfly from Patchwork Butterfly set from Chocolate Baroque with Memento ink and then masked it with a Post - It note.  I then stamped CI Script in Adirondack Slate and used a water brush to smudge it a bit.  Removed the mask and coloured the butterfly with Adirondack Stonewashed and DI Antique Linen and Spun Sugar again using the water brush.

Bye for now

Less is More

Now I'm probably pushing my luck here, but I've found out that Monmouthshire (aka Gwent) has its own flag!

So, as I'm busy making cards anyway (August is busy for birthdays) I thought I would do one in the Monmouthshire colours!

Stamp is from Butterfly Flourish by Chocolate Baroque and coloured with Promarkers.

Check out some great cards at Less is More

St Luke's Charity Cards

The theme over at St Luke's this month is

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside....

For my card I have used Seaside Ted which was a free gift from Chocolate Baroque recently. Stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black and coloured with a variety of Promarkers [which I'm still experimenting with!].

Thanks for looking, Sandra

Less is More

Over at Less is More this week the challenge is the colour of your nation!
"This week it's time for another colour challenge and for your delectation this week, we have decided to ask you make a card  using the
COLOURS
of
YOUR NATION'S FLAG!"
Well, I was originally from Worcester, but have lived in Wales for nearly 30 years so I have chosen the Welsh Flag - Red, White and Green.

This card was made using the new Steampunk Christmas stamps from Chocolate Baroque which arrived on my doorstep this morning!  I stamped and embossed in green and coloured the image with Promarkers.
